Zella May Phipps' Obituary
Zella May Phipps age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Waddell Nursing Home.
Mrs. Phipps was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 10, 1922 to Robert McKinley and Olive Smythers Porterfield.
She is survived by her husband Robert Phipps of Galax, Va.; sons and daughters-in-law Ray & Jan Hill of Danbury, N.C.; Billy & Linda Hill of Walkertown, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law Juanita West of Liberty, N.C.; Glenna & Ed Young of Burlington, N.C.; Deanie & George Greenhalgh of Greensboro, N.C.; Elizabeth Clubb of Walnut Cove, N.C.; Jewelene Montgomery of Galax, Va.; sister Hazel Alley of Galax, Va.; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 12:00 o'clock noon in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ken W. Phipps and Rev. Delbert Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
