WO1 Israel Lee Day, US Army, 39, of Woodlawn, Virginia, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 in Marion, Virginia. Israel was born November 1, 1972 in Galax, Virginia to Garth A. Day, Sr. & Debra L. Taylor Pruitt. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Virginia & Harvey Hawkins and paternal grandparents, Robert Day & Katherine Pike.

Israel is survived by his wife Kristie L. Day of the home; daughter & son-in-law, Brittany Day-Lineberry & Justin A. Lineberry of Galax; mother & step-father, Debra L. & Ricky Pruitt of Marion, Virginia; father, Garth A. Day, Sr. of Galax; step son, Daniel C. Wingate of Woodlawn; grandson, Parker A. Lineberry of Galax; two brothers, Garth A. Day, Jr. of Galax and Rance T. Day of Maryland; step-sister, Brandi F. Pruitt, Marion, VA; two nephews, Elijah J. & Jacob A. Day.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 21, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM
at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Andy Edmonds officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Fort Lee Funeral Detail.
