Winona Bernice Miller

Winona Bernice Johnson Miller age 64 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026 at her home.

Winona was born on September 17, 1961 to Walter Hix and Doris Faye Taylor Johnson.

She is survived by her husband Douglas Darrell Miller of Galax, Virginia; two daughters and sons-in-law Chenoa and Shawn Montgomery of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Lindsay and Ryan Oliver of Asheville, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Hix and Ingle Miller of Cana, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Wynn and Jeff Combs of Fries, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Warren and Ruth Johnson of Galax, Virginia; Wayne and Annalee Johnson of Roanoke, Virginia; Wade and Barbara Johnson of Fries, Virginia; nine grandchildren Thomas (Tessa); Alexis; Holly; Daniel; Sean; Taven; Maeli; Milli and Finnigan; one great-grandchild Tyse; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 PM in the Hillcrest Baptist Church with Pastor James Cowley and Pastor Jeff Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Hillcrest Baptist Church.
