Wilma Lucy Hooven age 81 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Hooven was born in Galax, Virginia on October 4, 1936 to Bruce and Lola Kirby Carter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hooven and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Robert Wayne and Sherry Hooven of Galax, Virginia; Dennis Ray and Debbie Hooven of Fancy Gap, Virginia; four grandchildren Misty Dickson; Kevin Hooven; Toshia Hooven and Jennifer Hooven; eight great-grandchildren Chase Dickson; Landon Dickson; Hannah Dickson; Daniel Edwards; Kaylee Hooven; Caiden Hooven; Nathan Peck and Alyssia Johnson; brothers and sister-in-law Frank and Edith Carter of Woodlawn, Virginia; Don Gray Carter of Independence, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Randy Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
