Wilma Norene Austin Mayes, 84, of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Mayes was born October 7, 1931 to the late Greely Oren Austin and Minnie Clyde Rutherford Austin.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Greely Chapman Austin (better known as Chap) and sisters Edna Austin Akers and Ruth Austin Galyean.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Dannie Eugene Mayes & Laurene of Galax.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
