Willie Edna Poe, age 98, of Abingdon, VA, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at Grace Healthcare of Abingdon.
Mrs. Poe was born Sept. 9, 1916 to Noah & Myrtie Rhudy Hall in
Grayson County, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Poe.
She is survived by daughters & sons-in-law, Shelby & Milo Padgett, Abingdon, VA & Brenda & Larry Funk, Galax, VA; sisters, Frances Hill, Fries, VA & Rose Vaughan, Baywood, VA; grandchildren, Kimberly & Darren Shalewitz, Elon, NC, Tony & Noela Funk, Burlington, NC, John & Michelle Funk, Graham, NC, special friend, Dora Funk; six great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews, also, survive.
The funeral service will be held Monday, Aug, 24, 2015 at the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax VA. at 7:00 PM with Pastor Mary Hessler officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday preceding the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
Flowers will be appreciated, however, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at CARIS Health Care, 1701 Euclid Ave., Suite H. Bristol, VA 24201 - Phone #276-494-0465.
