William Sanford Talley, Jr. age 85 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Talley was born in Mt. Airy, N.C. on April 19, 1923 to William & Bertie Griffeth Talley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jean Rudolph Talley. He is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law Mike & Barbara Talley of Clayton, N.C.; Greg & Jessica Talley of Hillsville, Va.; sister Katherine Quesinberry of Mt. Airy, N.C.; sister-in-law Betty Cornwell of Huntingtown, Maryland; eight grandchildren Michelle Huntington; Kimberly Hiatt; Eric Talley & wife Dusti; David Talley; Kourtney Talley; Presley Talley; Jabin Talley; Hadassah Hawks; four great-grandchildren Kayla Huntington; Kelsey Huntington; Kaitlyn Huntington and Evan Talley; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery with Military Rites by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
