William Stephen Melton age 44 of Fancy Gap, Virginia passed away Thursday in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Steve was born in Carroll County, Virginia on April 29, 1975 to William Virgil Melton and Brenda Lane Melton Fender.

He was preceded in death by his sister Lisa Melton.

He is survived by his mother Brenda Fender of Fries Virginia; father Virgil Melton of Fancy Gap, Virginia; two half-brothers Lewis Fender and Martin Fender both of Fries, Virginia; several cousins , aunts and uncles; special friends; Cindy Combs of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Tiffany Shumate of Galax, Virginia and his best friend Daisy.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in the Blue Ridge Chapel Church with Angie Lineberry and Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the father Virgil Melton, 688 Harrison Drive, Fancy Gap, Virginia 24328.
