William Preston Slate's Obituary
William Preston (Bill) Slate age 75 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 in Dixon County, Tennessee.
Mr. Slate was born in the Brush Creek Community of Wythe County, Virginia on August 28, 1938 to Preston J. and Hallie Rosenbaum Slate.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann King Slate; son and daughter-in-law William Dean (Billy) and Angie Slate; grandchildren Chad Slate, Leslie Phipps, Jay Slate and Violet Slate; sisters and brother-in-law Mary Isom; Ruth and Maynard Brown; brother and sister-in-law James and Lois Slate all of Galax, Virginia; sisters-in-law Nancy Morris and Betty Jo Griffin.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Titus Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 PM until time for the service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
