William C. Shores' Obituary
William C. Shores age 84 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Shores was born in Grayson County, Virginia on April 12, 1929 to William M. and Thelma Pugh Shores. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Reedy Shores; siblings Irene Collins, Jake Shores, Edna Porter, Mary Fowler and Dorothy Shaffner.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Rita and Raul Montero of Marion, Virginia; son Dusty Shores of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Amanda Walters and Leigh Anne Smith; great-grandchildren Madison Walters, Dawson Walters, Karson Walters and Ethan Smith; sister and brother-in-law Betty Jo and Harlan Campbell of Greensboro, North Carolina; many loving nieces and nephews; many friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3:30 PM at the West Galax United Methodist Church with Pastor Mary Hines officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to either the West Galax United Methodist Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Hillsville VFW Post 1115.
