William Samuel (Bill) (Pap) Williams, 88, of 737 Long Circle, Cascade, VA died Friday, July 20, 2018 after a short decline in health.

He was born January 7, 1930 in Grayson County, VA (Fries) a son of George Simpson Williams and Pearl Bell Shupe Williams and served his country from 1948-1951 in the Army during the Korean War with the 8th Army Headquarters, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He moved to Danville in the 1950's and owned W.S. Williams Construction Company, building many houses in the Danville area, until his retirement. Mr. Williams enjoyed raising and hunting rabbit dogs and beagles and raising Draft Horses. He was of the Methodist faith.

On October 13, 1951, he was married to Mary Eva Littrell Williams, she died January 18, 2015. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Michelle Williams, a grandson, Micky (Rooster) Williams, brothers, Reed Williams, Paris Williams, John Williams and Everett Williams and sisters, Mary Setliff, Louise Rich, Donna Akers and Grace Littreal.

Survivors include a son, Sammy Williams and wife, Robin; three daughters, Sandra Jones Irvin, Delores Sue Davis, Bonnie Hendrix and husband, Gary; a brother, Joe Williams; a sister, Pauline Boyer; grandchildren, Chic Jones, Billy Williams, Timmy Williams, Bonnie Jones, Terry Hendrix, Kristi Stoner and James Davis; step-grandchildren, Heather Hiltwine and Leigh Hiltwine, a number of great-grandchildren and his little buddy – Lucky, his dog.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church, 40 Crusader Lane Fries, VA 24330, with Pastor Brian Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and other times at the residence of his daughter, 457 Deercrest Lane Danville, VA 24541.
