William Otto Martin age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 in the Kissito Rehab of Bland in Bastian , Virginia.

Mr. Martin was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 28, 1931 to Thomas Wiley and Alice Lena Whitt Martin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife Vada Lineberry Martin of Galax, Virginia; daughter  Tonya Martin Simpson and Dennis Stanley of Raeford, North Carolina; grandchildren Joshua Simpson and fiance' Jennifer Compton of Waynesboro, North Carolina; Savannah Simpson and fiance' Matthew Paraf of Fayetteville, North Carolina;  brothers-in-law and spouses M.A. and Gaye Lineberry; Lonnie and Theresa Lineberry all of Galax, Virginia; Tommy Martin of Hillsville, Virginia; sister-in-law Jean Beasley of Johnson City, Tennessee; many loving nieces and nephews; special family members Jeffery Simpson of Salisbury, North Carolina; Heather Steffey of Bland, Virginia.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Military Rites by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. Pastor Sam Holder will be officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
