William Rush Horton's Obituary
William Rush Horton age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 in Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Horton was born in Carroll County, Virginia on December 17, 1921 to John Willie and Dora Alice Banks Horton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Alma Martin and Clara Richardson and one brother Foy Horton.
He is survived by his wife Maudie G. Horton of Galax, Va.; daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Tommy Jones; son and daughter-in-law William Robert "Bobby" and Angie Horton all of Galax, Va.; two granddaughters Nikki Horton and Katie Jones.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Twin County Regional Hospital Foundation.
