William Eugene "Bill"  Nuckolls, Sr.  age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mr. Nuckolls was born in Roanoke, Virginia on December 11, 1944 to Earl Garland and Virginia Witherow Nuckolls. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dr. James Nuckolls.

He is survived by his wife Janet Dolinger Nuckolls; son and daughter-in-law William Nuckolls, Jr. and Sara of Frederick, Maryland; grandson David Nuckolls;  sisters-in-law Mary Lily Nuckolls of Waynesboro, Virginia and Doreen Russell Dolinger; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark McFadden and the Rev. Dr. Kevin Rosenfeld officiating. The burial will be Monday at 10:00 AM in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the First United Methodist Church.
