William (Bill)
Dale Ring
August 7, 1950 – March 26, 2025
William Dale "Bill" Ring, age 74 of Troutdale, VA, formerly of Baywood and Galax, VA went home to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Bill passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his friends and loved ones. He was born August 7, 1950 in Galax, VA to Pearl Morris Ring and Wesley Edward Ring. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles "Charlie" Ring and his sister Agnes Ring Schuyler.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ring, of the home, his son Brandon Ring (Cindy), Galax, VA, his brother, Robert "Bob" Ring (Marie), Galax, VA, his grandson Joseph Ring, Columbus, AL, grandson Brayden Ring, Bristol, VA, granddaughter, Olivia Ring, Bristol, VA. He is also survived by his nephew Tim Schuyler (Ila), and a niece and nephew Audrey Lancho (Jonathan) and Trey Schuyler (Molly), and two great nephews Alistair and Ander Lancho and one great niece, Sutton Schuyler.
Bill Ring loved the Lord and he loved his neighbor. His generous and loving spirit touched the lives of everyone he encountered throughout his life. Bill worked for years in commercial construction prior to becoming the Building Official for Grayson County for 23 years. He later served as County Administrator for Grayson County until his retirement. He loved working for Grayson County and he saw his role as that of a public servant. His door was always open to anyone who had a need, or just needed to talk.
His greatest joy perhaps was being a pastor and sharing the love of Christ. Bill served as the pastor for Cranberry Christian Church for a number of years in Galax, VA.
After he retired, Bill enjoyed raising cattle and spending time on the farm with his dogs and his wife, Lisa, playing the occasional round of golf, and cheering on the Baltimore Orioles. Bill was also a master plumber, electrician, and carpenter and he loved the opportunity to help his friends and neighbors with anything that they needed.
1 Corinthians 13:13 says "And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three: and the greatest of these is love." Bill Ring was love and joy, kindness and compassion. He was such a loving husband and soul mate to his wife, Lisa. He was the love of her life. Bill was a friend to everyone that he met. He was a servant of the Lord, and shared the love of Christ with all. He was so loved and will be so greatly missed.
