William Fred Catron, age 83, of Mooresville, NC, formerly of Galax, died at Gordon Hospice House , Statesville, NC. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007. Mr. Catron was born Feb. 13, 1924 in Alleghany County, NC to Reece James and Ina Crouse Catron. He is survived by his wife, Polly Wilson Catron, Mooresville, NC, Daughter & Son-in-law, Ann & Jim McMillan, Bethesda, MD, son and daughter-in-law, William Fred , Jr. and Shannon Catron, Moorsville, NC, two granddaughters, Chelsea Strauss and Aislinn McMillan, three aunts, Marie Andrews, Sparta, NC, Wilma Ayers, Durham, NC and Grace Adams, Independence, Va. A graveside service and burial will be held Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, 11:00 AM at the Monta Vista Cemetery, Galax. with the Rev. Ernie Smith officiating.
