William Roy Brooms age 60, of Fries, Va. passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 at his home. Mr. Brooms was born on July 25, 1948 in Grayson County, Va. to Ottis Ray & Pauline Parks Brooms. In addition to his mother of Fries, Va. he is survived by his sisters & brothers-in-law Betty & Roger Price of Galax, Va.; Lily & Denny Slate of Fries, Va.; brothers Kenneth Brooms & Denny Brooms both of Fries, Va.; several nieces & nephews; a special friend Earl Waller. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 3,2008 at 11:00 am in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Rocky Dalton and Rev. Jerry Anders officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
