William Dean Bond age 73 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Bond was born in Galax, Virginia on October 13, 1942 to Wallace and Ella Eastridge Bond. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives Peggy Ring Bond and Barbara Williams Bond; granddaughters Chasity Dawn Carlan and Angela Dawn Bond; great-granddaughter Brooklynn Jade Bond; three brothers Wallace Junior Bond, Ronnie Douglas Nelson and Kenneth Lee Nelson.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Linda and Mike Carlan of Fries, Virginia; sons and daughter-in- law Dennis Wayne and Verna Bond; Wendell Keith Bond all of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Frieda and Virgil Sexton of Fries, Virginia; Carol Jean Post of Glade Valley, North Carolina; brothers Ronald Nelson of Galax, Virginia; Robert Allan Nelson of Fries, Virginia; three grandsons Scott Allen Carlan; Andrew Dean Bond and Anthony Wayne Bond; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Junior Bullion and Pastor Angie Lineberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Jennings Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
