William "Billy" Austin Pierce, age 82, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA. Mr. Pierce was born October 25, 1936 in Galax, Virginia to the late William Cone Pierce and Ruby Murray Pierce.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lois Nelson Pierce.

Mr. Pierce proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Pierce is survived by daughter and son-in-law Karen Pierce Bitikofer and Randy of Raleigh, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law: Gregory Dale Pierce and Erin of Greenville, North Carolina; grandchildren Kari Jones, Austin Bitikofer, Madeline Pierce, Peyton Pierce, great grandchild Mason Jones; sisters and brothers-in law: Peggy Lineberry and Donald; Janice Jones and Johnny all of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law: Kenneth Pierce and Phyllis of Dayton, Tennessee.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Pierce and Harold Nelson  officiating. Interment will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Twin County Hospice or the Galax-Grayson EMS.
