Willard Roy Vaughan's Obituary
Rev. Willard Roy Vaughan age 71 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 23, 1939 in Grayson County to Cecil & Mamie Funk Vaughan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Grace Padgett and three brothers: Arlie, Hobert & Dewey Vaughan.
He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law: Vickie Stanley of Mt. Airy, NC and Kay & Mike Vaught of Elk Creek, VA; step children and spouses: Robbie & Tammy Baker, Quenna Goad, Janet & Rick Watson, and Gina & Kenneth Young all of Fries; two sisters & a brother-in-law: Maggie & James Hamm, of Fries and Mary Ruth Jefferson of Greensboro, NC; three sisters-in-law: Almeda Vaughan, Eva Vaughan and Mamie Vaughan all of Fries.
Nine Grandchildren, two great grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening December 23, 2010 from 7 until 9 pm at the Fries Church of God of Prophecy.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the church with Rev. Rick Watson, Rev. Tony Vaughan, and Rev. Lacy King officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
