Willard Keith Smith age 74 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.
Mr. Smith was born in Galax, Virginia on November 28, 1934 to Burley & Ida Burcham Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother & sister-in-law Paul & Mildred Smith.
He is survived by his wife Bessie Smith of Galax, Va.; daughters & sons-in-law Jeanna Lynn & Jimmie Spears of Galax, Va.; Jana Leah & Steven Shaffner of Dallas, N.C.; sister Joyce Patton Pineville, N.C.; brothers & sisters-in-law Richard & Lois Smith; Homer & Bernice Smith; Kyle & Phyllis Smith; B.C. & Ann Smith all of Galax, Va.; Billy Smith of Roanoke, Va.; two grandchildren Megan Spears & Kelsie Spears; several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 11:00 am in Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Garry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Creek Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at Trinity Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Wotlz Hospice Home, 945 Zepher Road Dobson, N.C. 27017.
