Wiley Lester Roop age 96 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday-March 28, 2012 in the Waddell Nursing Home.

Mr. Roop was born on December 1, 1915 in Grayson County, Virginia to William Sanders and Ida Davis Roop. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elsie L. Roop and a son Curtis Roop.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law Janet and Early Boyles; Brenda Aldridge; son Charles Roop all of Fries, Virginia; sister Ethel Henley of Richmond, California; sister-in-law Elsie Roop of Independence, Virginia; four grandchildren Barbara Spence, Robert Boyles, David Roop and Mike Roop, eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Haga officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday morning from 10:00 until time for the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Grace Baptist Church. The family also request that all food be taken to the church.
