Welch Martin Deboard's Obituary
Welch Martin DeBoard, 78, of Galax (Baywood Community) passed away Saturday morning, May 16 at the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax.
Mr. DeBoard was born August 23, 1930 in North Carolina to Edmond and Lissie Watson DeBoard.
He serviced 23 ½ years with the US Army and was a golf pro in the latter years of his life.
He is survived by his wife: Imogene DeBoard of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law: Pamela & James Pauley of Barren Springs, VA; Benita & Randy Hampton and Teresa DeBoard all of Sparta, NC; and Becky & Edwin Ward of Galax; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Agnes & Bill Davis and Lenna & Leroy Blevins all of Stuart, Florida.
One granddaughter, six grandsons, one great granddaughter, one great grandson also survive.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 6 until 8 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Garry Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Felts Cemetery, Galax, VA.
