Wayne Dale Slusher, age 70 of Independence, Virginia passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Wayne was born in Carroll County, Virginia on April 17, 1955 to Waltrude and Emma Hill Slusher.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Martha and Brad James of Max Meadows, Virginia; brother and sister -in-law David and Alva Slusher of Riner, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; several other family members and special friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of the Three Hundred Hall of Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center and Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care they gave to Wayne.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date with time and place to be announced.
