Wayne Bays Poole, Sergeant First Class Retired age 67 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 in the VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.
Wayne was born in the Spring Valley Community of Grayson County, Virginia on December 11, 1944 to Munsey and Ida Pauline Grinnell Poole.
He is survived by his wife Wilma Poole of Galax, Virginia; children and spouses Gregory W. Poole of Galax, Virginia; Kimberly D. Poole of Independence, Virginia; Jody K. and Tiffany Poole of Fries, Virginia; Brad and Holly Poole of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses David Poole, Brandon Poole, Aisha and Josh Stuller, Tyla and Chad Moretz, Chase Poole, Kaitlyn Poole and Taylor Poole, great-grandchildren Garren Moretz, Sophia Moretz and Nevaeh Stuller, several nieces and nephews, best friend Jeff Hinkley.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Matt Linkous and Rev. Brian Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the Jerusalem United Methodist Church Cemetery with Military Honors by Fort Lee. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
