Wayne Anthony Damba age 74 of Lexington, North Carolina passed away Thursday, September 14,2017 at his home.

Wayne was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 2, 1942 to Anthony and Dorothy Emma Diebold Damba.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife Carlene Allison Damba of Lexington, North Carolina; children Sherri Mabe Bray; Michael Vincent Damba both of North Carolina; Matthew Wayne and Denise Damba of Maryland; Dr. Dwayne and Victoria Damba of Missouri; Lawrence and Ann Damba of Louisiana; sister and brother-in-law Dr. Natalie and Dr. Garth Russo of Georgia; five grandchildren Meagan Bray; Christian Bray; Zachary Damba; Emily Damba; Lauren Damba; great-grandchild Lucy Damba; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Stacy Redd and the Rev. Jeff Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Military Rites by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at the Hillcrest Baptist Church.
