Wanda Sumner, widow of Duane Sumner, age 81, Fries, VA, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at her home in Fries. She was born May 14, 1927 to McKinley & Pearl Holbrook Lundy at Galax, VA.

Mrs. Sumner is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Blake & Cathy Sumner, Independence, VA, Gary & Tracy Sumner, Fries, VA, grandchildren & spouses, Wendy & Wes Hutchens, Jessica & Michael Frina, Terri Lynn & Bill Cronin, Raleigh, NC and Elyse Sumner and Friend, Andy Taylor, step-sons & step-daughter-in-law, Nick & Corey Jones, Jacob Jones, two special friends, Danny Edwards of Galax and Dustin Bailey, Spartanburg, SC.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Fries Baptist Church at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Galax City Cemetery. The officiating ministers are the Reverands Glennard Quesenberry and John Williams. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday prior to the funeral service.
