Wanda Dale Rippey age 67 of Galax, Virginia passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Wanda was born on March 10,1951, to the late Hurley and Dorothy Wilson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Rippey.

She is survived by a sister, Diana Wilson Rowe and cousin "like a brother" Melvin Rector of Holmes Beach, Florida, nephew Kyle Casey Martin of Gainesville, Florida, Uncle Hoover Gentry of Low Gap, North Carolina; Aunt Mallie Holderfield of Galax, Virginia, granddaughters Jeri and Rachel of Galax, Virginia, three great-grandchildren; a host of friends, caregivers and neighbors, and her constant companion dog "Crickett".

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 4:00 PM at the Fairview Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the church. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the Woltz Hospice Home.
