Wanda Elizabeth Powers Melton age 87 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at her home.

Mrs. Melton was born in Galax, Virginia on March 24, 1934 to Arthur and Nella Warf Powers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Arthur Powers, Jr.

She is survived by her husband Ray Alvin Melton of Woodlawn, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Juanita Weatherman of Rising Sun, Maryland; Carol and Wade Williams of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sister-in-law Archie Powers of Owensboro, Kentucky; Edward and Freda Powers of Galax, Virginia; sister-in-law Sylvia Reeves of Galax, Virginia; brother-in-law and wife Joe and Charlene Melton of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; special nieces and nephews Tiffany, Shannon, Rhonda, Lindsey, Kendra, Joe, Gary, Harlos, Mike, Travis and Ronny; special caregivers Carolyn Beasley; Alice Larrowe; Arlis Gonzalez; Twin County Hospice; Twin County Home Health and James (J.J.) Jones.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Dr. Ronny Harrison officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
