Wanda Lou Carter, age 73, of Galax, VA died March 9, 2013 in the Woltz Hospice Home, Dobson, NC.

Mrs. Carter was born May 23, 1939 in Carroll County, VA to Emmett and Ethel Newman Brewer who preceded her in death. Also, preceding her in death was her daughter, Donna Sawyers and her brother, Roland Brewer.

She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Carter, Galax, VA; granddaughter & spouse, Tabitha & Scott Houk; great-granddaughter, Irelynn Houk; sister & brother-in-law, Penny & Willis Evans. Galax, VA;
Brothers & sisters-in-law, Roger & Judy Brewer, Galax, VA, Bob Brewer, Galax, VA, Danny & Brenda Brewer, Austinville, VA, Jim Brewer, Galax, VA. Several nieces & nephews, also, survive.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery, The family will receive friends at the Vaughan Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA, Monday, March 11, 2013, from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Garry Adams, the Rev. Bob Adams and the Rev. Jack Anderson.
