Walter Willis Evans age 86 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Evans was born in Grayson County, Virginia on February 1, 1932 to Dewey General and Rhena Burnette Evans.

He is survived by his wife Rilda Joleen "Penny" Evans of Woodlawn, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law W. Jeff and Janet Evans of Fieldale, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Aaron and Joy Evans of Ruckersville, Virginia; Charity Faith Havens of Fieldale, Virginia; great-grandchildren Isaacs Evans, Sean Evans and Austin Havens; sisters Ellen Phillips of Grayson County, Virginia; Juanita Parker of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; brother Eugene Evans of Thomasville, North Carolina.

The funeral service will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Snow Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Ernie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery with Military Rites by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations made to the Mt. Valley Hospice, 1477 Carrollton Pike, Hillsville, Virginia 24343.
