Wade Andrew Smythers age 80 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at his home. Mr. Smythers was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 26, 1928 to Fred Andrew & Myrtle Taylor Smythers. He is survived by his daughters & son-in-law Linda S. Bowles of Woodlawn, Va.; Barbara S. & Lewis A. Dalton of Dugspur, Va.; Donna S. Smythers of Winston-Salem, N.C.; sister Selma L. Patton of Woodlawn, Va.; grandson James Andrew Melton of Woodlawn, Va.; nephew & his wife Sam & Jane Patton and their children Katie & Jake; special friend Linda K. Post of Woodlawn, Va. and her daughter Tina Begleu. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Skyview Baptist Church with Rev. Wendell Horton and Rev. Elmon Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The body will lie-in-state one hour before the funeral service.
