Wade Curtis Nelson age 69 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at his home.

Wade was born in Carroll County, Virginia on July 5,1946 to Alfred and Ora Belle Montgomery Nelson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Margaret Riggins Sizemore; Mildred MeGee; Jewel Dean McGee; Lillian McGee Adkins; Doris Rea Miller; brothers Herbert Curtis Nelson; Kent Douglas Nelson; Thomas Lee Nelson and Edward Nelson.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Stacy Curtis and Ramona Goad Nelson of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Taeley Nelson; Cortney Nelson; Taner Dalton and Garrett Helton; two great-grandchildren; sister Brenda Ring of Galax, Virginia; brother-in-law Rhudy Miller of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with Military Rites by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
