Vivian June Sturgill age 91 of Lansing, North Carolina passed away Friday, July 18, 2008 in Hugh Chatham Nursing Home. Mrs. Sturgill was born on September 28, 1916 in Ashe County, N.C. to Arthur & Dora Jones Testerman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Ray Sturgill. She is survived by her daughter JoAnn Sturgill Hart of Lansing, N.C.; sons & daughters-in-law Jimmy & Jan Sturgill of Jefferson, N.C.; Don & Brenda Sturgill of Sugar Grove, Va.; Howard & Polly Sturgill of Hillsville, Va.; Charles & Patsy Sturgill of Independence, Va.; Joe & Elaine Sturgill of Kingsport, Tennessee; Johnny & Sharon Sturgill of Wilkesboro, N.C.; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 3:00 pm in Sturgills Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Day officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until 3:00 pm at Sturgills Baptist Church.
