Virginia Ring Hawkins age 84 of Galax, Va. passed away Saturday November 11, 2006 at her home. She was born on June 17, 1922 in Carroll County, Va. to the late Guy S. & Maggie Isom Ring. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Harvey Hawkins. She is survived by daughters & son-in-law Debra Lynn & Richard Pruitt of Wytheville, Va.; Patricia Wilson of Galax, Va.; son & daughter-in-law J.C. & Alma Lee Hawkins of Sparta, N.C.; sisters Frances Worrell of Bent Mountain, Va.; Catherine Edwards of Lynchburg,Va.; Dimple Taylor of Woodlawn,Va.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step granddaughter and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday November 14,2006 at 1:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Charles Smythers officiating. Burial will follow in McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
