Virginia Hanks, 83, of Mount Airy, NC passed away Wednesday, January 7th, 2015 at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC. Virginia was born in Reno, Nevada to the late James and Olive Morris Niketas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson Jesse Hanks Cox, brother Ardell Morris and nephew Rev. Larry Morris.

She is survived by her husband: Arnold Hanks of Hillsville, Virginia; two daughters: Esther Hanks of Collinsville, Virginia and Marilyn Hanks of Cana, Virginia; one sister Shirley Fields of Mount Airy, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Shana Kahila, William Seltzer, Hank Seltzer and wife Elizabeth; one great grandson Jacob Oostdyk; three nephews Mickey Fields, Bodey Fields, and Derek Morris; two special friends Steven and Penney Cain of Mount Airy, North
Carolina; many, many, many special cousins, friends and relatives.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. James Orange officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until service time at the funeral home.
