Virginia June Grinnell Leonard's Obituary
Virginia June Grinnell Leonard, 93 passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 in Waddell Nursing Home.
Mrs. Leonard was born June 26,1923 in Wythe County, Virginia to the late Henry Alonzo Grinnell and Anna Katherine Gilman Grinnell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands Jim Wisely and Thomas Lawrence Leonard.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by daughters and son-in-law: Mardelia "Fritzy" and Ron Atkins of Moneta, Virginia; Karen W. Bobbitt and Doris Ann Whisenhunt both of Galax; step daughter Charlotte Alger of Hillsville, Virginia step son Mike Leonard of Galax. Five Grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several step grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services and burial will be held Thursday March 16, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery, Route 21 South on Grayson Turnpike, Wytheville, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
