Virginia Pearl Patterson Galyean age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Galyean was born in Carroll County, Virginia on September 24, 1931 to John Frank and Ruby Mary Bryant Patterson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thurman Ocler Galyean.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Galyean of Galax, Virginia; son Steve Galyean of Richmond, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Janet Pattterson of Galax, Virginia; brothers-in-law and spouses F.C. and Bonnie Galyean of Galax, Virginia; Roger and Diane Galyean of Floral City, Florida; several nieces and nephews; special friends Katherine Luper and Wilma Mayes.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ernie Smith officiating Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
