Virginia Faye Rippey Combs age 80 of Lexington, North Carolina passed away Wednesday at her home.

Mrs. Combs was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 25, 1940 to Troy Calvin and Ada Leona Love Rippey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Roosevelt Combs; a grandson Michael Combs, Jr.; great-granddaughter Kemrey Lee Smith; son-in-law Gary Hill and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Karen Leona and Eddie Tipton of Gold Hill, North Carolina; Sandra Kay Combs Hill of Trinity, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Michael James and Nona Combs of Lexington, North Carolina; brother Charlie Rippey of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Tori Dawn and David Jordan; Jason Eric and Jamie Traynham; Misty Hill and Jamie Vance; Kelly Hill; Chris Hicks; Chris and Aleece Hill; nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the Good Hope Cemetery with Gale Rippey officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
