Virginia Irene Byrd's Obituary
Virginia Irene Byrd, age 83, of Galax, VA passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at the Waddell Nursing & Rehab Center, Galax, VA.
Mrs. Byrd was born Feb. 24, 1932 to James Vester & Maggie Isom Ingersoll. Preceding her in death were her parents & brother, James.
She is survived by daughter & son-in-law, Vickie & Roger Cox, Galax, VA; sisters & brother-in-law, Ruth & Gilmer Sizemore, Helen Frost, all of Galax, VA; grandchildren & spouse, Roger Lee Cox, Atlanta, GA, Chris & Erin Cox, Galax, VA; several nieces & nephews and a special friend, Vera Combs. also, survive.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home at 12:00 Noon with Pastor D.G. Fox officiating. Burial will follow at the Felts Memorial Cemetery, The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service on Tuesday at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
Flowers will be appreciated however, memorial contributions may be made to Twin County Hospice in honor of Virginia Byrd.
