Virginia Beatty, known to friends as "Jinx", passed away Saturday , January 23, 2010, at Jefferson City, TN. She was born on June 26, 1909 in Elk Creek, VA, to Eli Scott and Eva M. Hale. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William A.(Bill) Beatty, siblings Richard Scott Hale, Rachel Booher, Thornton(Tony) Horne, and Martha Fields, also by one grandchild, Anthony Savage.

She is survived by 3 children: Martha Evans, Jessica Treece, and Charles Scott Ryan Beatty, by 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Vaughn-Guynn Funeral Home in Galax, VA on Tuesday January 26, 2010 from six until eight followed by a funeral service with Rev. Walt Simmerman officiating. Interment will be at Lebanon United Methodist Church in Elk Creek, VA on Wed. January 27,2010 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church cemetery fund, or to the Alzheimer's Association.
