Virginia Athalene Creed Murphy

Virginia Athalene Murphy age 99 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026 at her home.

Mrs. Murphy was born in Forsyth County, North Carolina on December 14, 1926 to Felton and Texa Wilson Creed.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law Sandra Walker and Ron Marion of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Lou Ann and Herbert Hash of Galax, Virginia; Freda and Rocky Bailey of Yorktown, Virginia; sister Betty Lou Crouse of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with Elder James Hayden and Elder Tim McGrady officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
