Virgil Burton Martin's Obituary
Virgil Burton Martin, age 90, of Salem, VA, formerly of Roanoke County, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013. He was born in Carroll County, VA
to Thomas Wiley and Alice Whitt Martin.
Virgil retired from GE Apparatus Service Shop in Roanoke after thirty two years of service. He was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of sixty six years, Velma J. Martin; son, Winfred Martin and wife, Diana of Wilmington, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law: Elmo Martin and Georgia; Otto Martin and Vada all of Galax. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 12:00 Noon in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA. Burial will follow in the Felts Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service on Wednesday. Officiating minister will be the Rev. Richard Gregory.
Military rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726.
