Violet Carico age 84 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Beverly Blue Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born in Carroll County, Va. on January 10, 1923 to the late David Samuel & Effie Dillon Jones. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Luther Carico and son John David Carico. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Joyce Carico; Karen Carico both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Ann & Jim Vaughan of Summerville, S.C.; Linda & Larry Hill of Johnson City, Tennessee; Emily Diane & Terry McMillian of Galax, Va.; sister & brother-in-law Betty & Gilbert Fortner of Galax, Va.; brother & sister-in-law Bill & Kay Jones of Burlington, N.C.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 18, 2007 at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Bob Adams officiating. Burial will follow in McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
