Verna Honaker Choate age 81 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, October 16, 2006 in Twin County Regional Hospital. She was born in Grayson County, Virginia on March 10, 1925 to the late Wiley and Mary Jane Blevins Delp. She is survived by her husband Dovy Choate of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law, Fred & Peggy Honaker of Walkertown, N.C.; sisters, Reba McGrady of Galax, Virginia and Grace Morris of Lexington, N.C.; step-children and their spouse, Ada Jean & Warren Baird of Laurel Springs, N.C.; Bobby & Ann Choate of Galax, Va.; and Charles & Debbie Choate of Rocky Mount, N.C.; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; five step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Wednesday October 18, 2006 at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ted Bartlett and Rev. Garry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
