Verla L. Newman Stoneman age 84 of Woodlawn, Va. passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007 in Twin County Regional Hospital. She was born on March 31, 1922 in Carroll County, Va. to the late Ralph and Josie Littreal Lineberry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Eddie Newman. She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Shelia & Buford Mabe of Aurora, Illinois; sons & daughters-in-law, John & Barbara Newman of Austinville, Va.; Joe & Martha Newman of Cumming, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Judy Newman of Galax, Va.; sisters Guyda Hackler of Roanoke, Va.; Kate Angle of Salem, Va.; brother, J.C. Lineberry of Galax, Va.; sister-in-law Jewel Lineberry of Galax, Va.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 3:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. David Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
