Verla Mae Roten age 87 of Ennice, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024  at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mrs. Roten was born on May 19, 1937 in Grayson County, Virginia to Wesley Clifton and Bessie Lee Sage Robertson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Foster Funk; son Ralph Funk;one grandson;  sister Agnes Robinson and brother Tommy Robinson.

She is survived by her husband Paul Sam Roten; daughter and son-in-law Carol and David Nichols; sons Ronnie Roten and Justin Roten; sister Gaye Parsons; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;   several nieces and nephews; two special nieces Amy Bottomley and Renea Bottomley.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Savannah Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Lindquist officiating. Burial will follow in the Saddle Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Savannah Methodist Church.
