Velda Frances Richardson Edwards, age 83, Galax, VA, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, VA.
Mrs. Edwards was born April 08, 1934 in Carroll County, VA to Lebert and Carrie Redd Richardson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy G. Edwards.
She is survived by sons & daughters-in-law, Sonny & Sandy Edwards, Charlotte, NC, Joe D. & Tammy Edwards, Galax, VA, Doug & Sara Edwards, Floyd, VA; grandchildren, Joshua & Faith Edwards, Lakota Hunter, Jeremiah Demme; great-grandchild, Destiny Bowers; sisters & brother-in-law, Jamalee Nichols, Betty Jo & Bill Cockerham, all of Galax, VA; brother & sister-in-law, Butch & Betty Richardson. Galax, VA. Several nieces & nephews, also, survive.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel at 2:00 PM, and burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the funeral home. Officiating ministers will be Pastor Jeff Pickett and Pastor James Billings.
