Valerie was born on January 12, 1985 and passed on May 21, 2020. Valerie was a resident of Wilkesboro, NC. Valerie was the loving mother of 5 Children: Kaylie Barker of Tennessee, Shaun Carpenter, Rosa Ruiz of Austinville, Meya and Esther Sanchez of Fries. Valerie was proceeded in death by her mother Tammy Burris Barker, grandmother, Betty Mason, and younger brother, Michael Barker. She is survived by her sisters Brittany LaSpina of Cowen, West Virginia, Brittani Stoneman of Galax, Brandi Stoneman of Lambsburg, and Destiny England of Galax, and her brother Samuel Barker of Fries.

She is also survived by her father and Step mother, Junior Roach and Jennifer Brown and a special great uncle and aunt, Vernon and Betty Johnson. She was engaged to be married to Johnny Myers of Wilkesboro and adopted into his family by Suzan Perrin Myers, and Diane Myers Brooks. Valerie was an amazing person. Her family was her life. She adored her nieces and nephew, Ailyna Sunny Maillee, McKenna Rose, and Jensen Axle. She was funny and happy always. She would smile even in the darkest time. Her heart was made of gold and her personality to match. This world will be darker now that she is gone but she will celebrate with her gone on loved ones. Never to suffer again.

There will be a visitation at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home on Sunday May 24, 2020 from 2PM until 4PM. There will be a graveside service at a later date at Dry Pond Cemetery in Hillsville.
