Vada Lineberry Martin February 19,1932 til May 01, 2026
Vada was born in Carroll County, Va to George Clarence Linberry and Syrena Burnett Lineberry. Vada married William Otto Martin on June 21, 1957. Vada worked at Dupont in Martinsville, VA, Supervisor for Wonderknit, and Sands Vending in Mt. Airy, NC.
Vada loved her family and children beyond words, including the many aunts, uncles, and lots of cousins along with community families that grew up as one and her incredible Faith and Church family, along with many friends she cherished throughout her lifetime.
Vada loved cooking and was well known for feeding everyone that walked through her door with Kat head biscuits, desserts, fried chicken and gravy, loved gardening and harvesting, working in her yard, and her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren as they grew up. Recently her new passion was becoming Great-Grandma to William.
Vada was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Angela Martin, and sisters.
She is survived by: daughter Tonya Lynn Martin-Simpson and Dennis Stanley of Raeford, North Carolina; grandchildren Joshua and Jennifer Simpson of Canton North Carolina; Savannah Simpson-Paraf and Matthew Paraf of Sanford, NC; Great-Grandson William James Simpson; brothers M.A. and Gaye Lineberry, Lonnie and Theresa Lineberry all of Galax, VA ;brother in law Tommy Martin of Hillsville, VA; nieces and nephews Avery and Stephen Dalton, Ryan Lineberry, Georgia Beasley and Frank Moore Scotty and Debra Martin, Trina and Richard Hall, Kevin and Melissa Martin, Jimmy Lineberry and Jeffrey Iroler.
A graveside service will be held on May 9, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Monta Vista Memory Gardens with Reverend David Long and Reverend Sam Holder officiating the memorial service.
